There are 4 demonstration lines on the example diagram on the left, and the number of lines in the actual application may vary. The diagram uses a split multilayered varistor, which provides greater flexibility for the layout of the circuit board.

Regulatory issues:
IEC 61000-4-2 is the most suitable standard for such circuits. The test can prove that the terminal product is not vulnerable to ESD.
